Launchers Athletics is a throws club in the sport of track and field. The field events include the discus, shot put and javelin events. Established in 2001, the aim of the club will be to give individuals an opportunity and the access to specialized training in throwing events and promote fair play, skill development and have fun throwing.

With many young athletes, goals are different with each person. The clubs main goal will be to prepare young athletes for several opportunities. (1) The 2013 Canada Summer Games (2) National Senior and Junior Championships (3) Team Canada Opportunities (4) Provincial Legion team and (5) students who would like to get ready for the school track season. The club is open to individuals ages 14 & up and welcomes all recreational and the highly skilled throwers.

If you are interested in throwing ... Launchers is the place for you! The club has a proven record of performance at provincial, national and international level. The club has quality equipment and the latest technology to assist individuals with their sport goals.

The facility was built by community volunteers in 2004 and is the main training centre for the club. During the winter months, members train indoors at Central Kings Rural High in Cambridge, NS.
